"At Harbour Light, we rely heavily on volunteers to operate our daily community meals. We truly could not meet the needs of our community without volunteer support. Volunteer coordination is only one aspect of my position, and it can be extremely time-consuming to schedule our volunteers and register interested community members for orientation sessions.
When I learned about Kindness Connect, I immediately saw the opportunity to improve my response time to my volunteers and increase their engagement. The Kindness Connect team has patiently and effectively supported both me and my volunteers as we have learned to use the system. They are quick to answer questions and trouble-shoot errors, and patient with some of our more technologically-challenged users.

I started using Kindness Connect to help solve a number of volunteer management problems that I was hoping I could do all in one program instead of trying to make a variety of different solutions and programs work together. I learned how everything worked on my own first, then did a trial with some of my top volunteers to see if they liked using it and to work out any issues before committing to use Kindness Connect in everyday use. I now use Kindness Connect in our everyday use and it's been a lifesaver to our organization. It really is as simple as recruiting volunteers for opportunities and scheduling them in but it can do so much more too once you get into it. I have run large scale 3 day events with different volunteers doing setup, driving, and running the event at different levels with great success. I no longer have any miscommunication with confirming volunteers because that's done through the platform. I have quickly recruited single volunteers for single volunteer tasks (for us, that would be driving an animal to the vet), where I used to have to send multiple emails to everyone to tell them either I found someone already or still need someone they now know right away because the opportunity is either still available or not. I no longer have to wait until I am at my computer at home to create a new volunteer opportunity or contact a specific group because I can do it from anywhere via the Kindness Connect platform.
Kindness Connect has made the Volunteer Coordinator position into a pleasure to do instead of a nightmare. I even get excited when I see volunteers apply to different time slots or opportunities! I would hands down recommend Kindness Connect to anyone running a volunteer program of any size.
